Vice President, Publicity - OPEN


We are currently looking to grow our team of volunteers and board members for the New Brighton Stockyard Days festival! We are searching for an energetic and enthusiastic VP of Publicity for New Brighton Stockyard Days to promote the festival and increase visibility through all media forms, including but not limited to: social media, website presence, SEO, print, advertising, graphics, and more. The New Brighton Stockyard Days Committee oversees the organization, promotion, and fundraising of New Brighton’s annual festival. This is a volunteer position which will be supported by our current social media, web, and graphic design volunteer team. This position will also collaborate and work closely with the VP of Ambassadors to support and coordinate a consistent SYD message across platforms as well as work with the VP of Fundraising to brainstorm a new, yet New Brighton-focused button design on a yearly basis. 



Prior or current public relations, marketing, advertising, and/or related experience through career or other volunteer means. Media experience and connections with publications for optimal public relations exposure. Experience managing a publicity budget in order to coordinate ad spending and reach. Willingness to brainstorm new ideas with current volunteers and board members, with a focus on striving to be more involved in New Brighton community life--both virtual and in-person--all year long to help foster greater success as a festival. A personal desire to help New Brighton Stockyard Days be a consistent, inclusive presence in the community. 



SECTION 20. DUTIES-VICE-PRESIDENT, PUBLICITY. DUTIES- The Publicity Vice President shall be responsible for publicizing the purposes of the Corporation and the desirability of participating in events sponsored by the Corporation and shall promote the festival through various media of all available kinds including social media. He/she may select an assistant or Team to help manage all website and social media accounts. In addition, the Publicity Vice President shall prepare for board approval and administer publicity related budgets.


SECTION 24.  ADDITIONAL DUTIES.   All officers will be responsible for the overall duties defined for their positions as well as the recruitment and coordination of their own volunteers.  Any officer of the Corporation, in addition to the powers conferred upon him/her by these Bylaws, will have additional powers and perform such additional duties as may be prescribed from time to time by the Board of Directors.
