The ducks have been enjoying their summer and are starting to think about the migration south.
But before they go, some are hoping to participate in the almost annual Stockyard Days Duck Race. These
ducks have been training for the race for several weeks and thru a tryout process we have selected a few to compete in this
year's race.
You can support the festival by purchasing a Duck Raffle ticket and
then come and enjoy the fiercely competitive race and watch as they jockey for position and race down Rice Creek.
Tickets
are just $5 and you need not be present to win.
Winners will be announced at Long Lake Park on Sunday around
3 pm.
First place wins $500
2nd thru 5th place wins $100
6th thru 10th place wins $50
Last duck across
the finish line wins $100
Access to the viewing area is on Mississippi St. between Silver Lake Road and Thorndale.
Tickets can be purchased at Beisswenger's Hardware, NB City Hall, or during the festival at the Information Booth located
at Long Lake Regional Park on Friday 9th or Sat. the 10th.
